Mushroom’s Patience is possibly one of those what you call best kept secrets within the music world… well known by connoisseurs and totally unknown to most… The core member, and mastermind, of the band is Raffaele Cerroni and the band is already active since the early 1980’s. In the early 2000’s they gained some fame in the industrial scene due to the signing to Hau Ruck!. This despite their music being a weird psychedelic blend of jazz, electronic music and any sound the musicians seemed fitting.
“Water” by Mushroom’s Patience is the final part of the “Roma – Wien” (also known as the “earth-air-water”) trilogy and possibly the highlight of both this trilogy and the bands output. It was recorded in 2004 and released on CD a year later. “Water” now returns for the first time on vinyl as double-LP…
The album has aged well so to speak… it does not outdated at all… it could have been recorded to date and I would have been just as enthusiastic as I have ever been about it… so it is an absolute pleasure to be able to realize this vinyl edition with new artwork.
Also this ‘Roma – Wien’ (or “earth-air-water”) period was the best period of the band in my opinion… and I guess I am not alone in this… with as said “Water” probably the highlight… the band at that time consisted next to Raffaele Cerroni of Jurgen Weber (Novy Svet) as main conspirator… and next to that DBPIT (Der Bekannte Post Industrielle Trompeter), Clau D.E.D.I. (Ain Soph) and frl Tost (Novy Svet) were on board… so well… Mushroom’s Patience was at that time nothing short of a post-industrial supergroup…
Hopefully this vinyl edition can please both lovers and new discovers of Mushroom’s Patience and the genius of this album is still dripping out of it…
